Matara is a stunning Asian-inspired wedding venue located in the heart of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. The venue has beautiful gardens, breathtaking views, and elegant architecture that blend Eastern and Western design elements. The estate was originally built in the 1800s and has since been restored and renovated to its current state, incorporating Asian-inspired elements throughout the venue. Matara's beautiful gardens are adorned with traditional Japanese lanterns, stone sculptures, and water features, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.
One of the standout features of The Matara Centre is its incredible maze, located in the centre of the beautiful lawn. The maze is a unique and stunning location for romantic wedding photography and if you're lucky, we may even catch a perfect sunset for a backdrop. Another unique perk of getting married at Matara is that every couple gets to plant a tree in the grounds, marked by a plaque with their names on.
Matara is one of my favourite wedding venues in Gloucestershire, with its unique, zen, and tranquil feel and it holds a special place in my heart, having been my first wedding photography booking all those years ago.
